About VOICES

Speech & Debate for Youth helps children of all backgrounds develop confidence, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Critical Thinking

In debate, students research current events, analyze topics from multiple perspectives, and form well though-out arguments. This process sharpens analytical skills and teaches collaboration as debaters work together to express their ideas. In the process, kids learn to utilize core analytical skills and team collaboration to convey their point of view.

Confidence

By practicing oral delivery in a supportive classroom environment, kids become comfortable speaking in public. Over time, speaking without fear or hesitation becomes second nature, empowering youth in both academic and personal settings.

Communication Skills

Through Speech & Debate, kids will also develop effective communication. By gaining the ability to speak without stuttering or hesitation, they will achieve the skills to express ideas clearly and confidently.

Our Mission

At VOICES, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for children to develop their speech and debate skills. Our classes empower youth, create critical thinking, and promote articulate expression. We are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children by providing them with the tools and opportunities to succeed. VOICES holds workshops in community centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, and libraries making speech and debate accessible to all children. Our goal is to instill confidence, inspire self-expression, and help youth discover the power of their voices.
